Kobe Sizzlers is a new addition to the city of Leicester. It came to us by chance as we wanted to celebrate an anniversary. As we entered first impressions were that the restaurant was new, clean and the staff were friendly.  We were politely greeted and asked if it was for a table for 2. We followed the waitress to the table and were asked if we wanted drinks. We had the Mojito Mocktails which were to to die for!  “Refreshing lime juice with sparkling water finished with fresh mint leaves”.


The décor of the restaurant is modern and it makes you feel special. The seating was ideal for us near a window, although if you arrive with an army of friends then they do have seats to accommodate.

For starters we ordered home-made crispy onion rings, OMG, let me tell you they are the yummiest onion rings we’ve had in a while. They were HUGE!!! The crunch when you bite into one and then tasting the juicy onion on the inside, totally irresistible. We’ve also heard that the Crispy Prawns – “Ecuadorian king prawns, deep-fried with a light crispy batter tossed in spicy aioli”.

For mains we both ordered Chicken Steak, “Succulent, tender grilled chicken steak packed with flavour from our chef’s special marinade”. You choose from the following flavours, Garlic, Mushroom, Peppercorn, Schezwan and Gravy.  We asked the waitress if they could make it spicy, she suggested that we have Schezwan only sauce.

Our plate of food arrived on a sizzling cast iron hot plate. Our “sizzler” came with hand cut triple cooked chips, rice or noodles, onions, green beans and carrots! When visiting a restaurant, I look for value for money, let me tell you, you certainly get what you pay for and MORE. I was astonished with the amount of food given.


We ended our evening with a Sizzling Brownie, “Luxury rich milk chocolate brownie served with a scoop of ice cream on a sizzling platter drizzled with hot chocolate sauce”. If that doesn’t temp, you I don’t know what would? We were presented the dessert by what appeared to be the head chef or the manager of the restaurant. We found this to be an amazing experience as he poured the chocolate over the brownie and really took us to a magical place. Needless to say, we ate the dessert on such a food high.
